WSBK Round 5 – Donington Park, England

In the track where 25 years ago was the first race of the Superbike World Championship, was held the fifth stage of the 2013 season. Also this weekend began with heavy rains during practice days, which really slowed the lap times.

In Race 1 Marco Melandri, starting from sixth position, made an amazing race leading him to the second place in the final podium, behind the Kawasaki of the landlord Sykes. Bad luck for Leon Camier, ending the race in the gravel.

Race 2 sees Melandri fighting close to the top positions throughout the race along with his compatriot Giugliano, but few laps to the finish line, a mistake will get him in fifth position. Another race to forget for home rider Leon Camier, slipped during the sixth lap, which will conclude the only race in 13th position.
